Download videos from Youtube, Google Video and iFilm directly to your computer (and how to convert .flv files to other formats)
Today I feel like progamming a little bit, but although my knowledge in PHP and Javascript is very limited, after a couple of hours working in front of the screen, I have written a code which I consider really useful to many people, because it should allow you to do something that until now you could only obtain with other troublesome methods: Download any Youtube video directly….with no installation of anything (no Grease Monkey scripts), compatible with all operative systems and computers.
I have also added the possibility of download, equally, videos from Google Video and iFilm. And, as an special gift, I explain how to do something quite requested: How to change format of those videos (.flv or .mov) to other types like .wmv, .mpg, .avi or .mov. Here we go.
Download the videos
Note: Remember to add .flv extension to the downloaded file (.mov in iFilm). In order to visualize it, you will need to convert it to other format (as I have explained below), or use an specific FLV files player (like FLV Player) / MOV (like Quicktime Alternative).
Changing videos’ format
Ok, now we have our videos downloaded in .flv format (or .mov), but, for some unknown reason, we need them in .avi, .wmv, .mpg or .mov format. There is no problem at all. There are a few freeware software which allows to realize that function perfectly. The first one is Riva FLV Encoder (download), and this website explains how to use it. The one I recommend is easier, called CinemaForge (shareware without restrictions) and I teach its use with the following flash animation.
How to convert from .flv to other formats with CinemaForge
If you also want to edit, add titles or special effects to your videos easily (as I do in my Video of the Day section), don’t hesitate about it, your program is Pure Motion EditStudio.

The reason that Fatal error is comming up is that either youtobe or Javimoya downloader is undergoing maintenence.
Sometimes, companies like DailyMotion or youtube may change how the video loads, or change it’s external files, and how you get them.

He bajado tu add-on para el Firefox Mozilla denominado Videodownload 1.1.1. Lo que se indica en la página Web sobre sus funciones parece sensacional. Sin embargo, no lo puedo hacer funcionar. Aparentemente, el programa baja el video. Y, como se indica, yo le pongo una terminación .flv. Sin embargo no puedo abrirlo. Cuando intento no parece nada en pantalla.
Pensé que el problema podría estar en el Flash Card. Sin embargo, cuando bajé el Videodownload se me indicó que debía bajar también el visor de FlasCard y así lo hice y lo instalé. Por otra parte, tengo en mi ordenador em Macromedia Flash 8, pero éste no admite files con esa terminación.
¿Dónde está mi falla? ¿Que debo hacer para corregir el problema?

I’m having trouble downloading & saving videos from www.badjojo.com. No matter what I’ve tried to do, I have been unable to save a video from that side, even though I’ve tried about a dozen different things to save them. When the download window from your software opens up and I click on the download radio button, nothing happens. If I try to right click and save the file, only a php web page is available for saving. I’ve even gone so far as to try saving the video from IE, but absolutely nothing is working.
Is there something wrong with badjojo lately? Is there something keeping me from saving the videos? Is it that only certain types of videos can be saved? I’ve tried to save several types, but still end up with the same result.
Help!!!

Well, in certain cases all the VideoDownloader gets down is a file flvplayer.swf which cannot be played. It is always of exactly the same size even if I try to download different video files from the same website. So it will be some kind of a fake file…
It works much better with the Unplug extension!
Try that one when VideoDownloader fails…

Tentei salvar imagens (fotos) em todas as versões do Mozilla Firefox, com o botão direito do mouse e nenhum está funcionando. Os downloads de vídeos estão funcionando, mas também não aparece nenhum histórico (andamento) nem abre nenhuma janela. “Download Statusbar” nem sequer aparece, apesar de estar instalado.

I’d like to be able to go to say a local news website if I missed taping a segment on my TV tuner, but find a good segment on their video links and be able to rip the video to save to .wmv format (if I have to save it to .flv first, that’s okay).
Any hints? I’m desperate and don’t want to spend $100s of dollars for a software package.

Just downloaded VideoDownloader for Firefox. I tried to save a file from DevilDucky and it said that DevilDucky was not a URL that was not on your list. It is on the list and very obvious.
What do I do?

I am trying to download http://dv.ouou.com/swf/ouou.swf?id=38d7f45b6f362 i.e. from dv.ouou.com and it wont work. The problem is that that particular site has a lot of videos of interest but is pathetically slow. I would prefer to download the video overnight and watch it the next day. It will be great if you can add support for this site.

hey www.crunchyroll.com fans i found a way to download videos from there if you want to know email me on ichigo_fuse_ueki@yahoo.com if i get 100 emails or more i will give you the program and let me tell you more about it you can download with your download manager too ok. now look any website any website that streams or you are watching videos online can be downloaded it’s my trick looking forward to it.
